The Playground Murals
For a few weeks in October, the WONDERLENS aliens will be stepping away from computer animation and we'll be trying some old-fashioned Earth painting.

We've decided to start BIG.

How big? How about a jungle painted on a 140 foot playground wall! It's for an excellent cause, Children's Early Head Start and Volunteers of America. The murals will brighten up both the playground walls and the indoor hallways of a new Early Head Start building in San Bernardino, offering classes, activities and other great programs for low income preschool children and their Moms.

Here's what we'll be painting on the largest section of playground wall.......yes - it keeps going.....and going and.... . . .


Here's a "Before & After" mockup of what the playground looks like now, and how it will hopefully look after the mural is painted.



Indoors, we'll be painting a parade of bugs, frogs, birds and critters, carrying flowers towards a giant bouquet with the words "To plant a garden is to believe in the future" (which just happens to be a favorite Luna Sleeper saying)

So come out and join us! There will be painting supplies for all, plus snacks, prizes, aching muscles and plenty of sunburns. Luna will be contacting you with all the details.

How come we have SEVEN different days of the week, but not a single NAPday?

We have Monday. What's a Mon? Why does IT get a day? We should have a Napday, when you could just sleep whenever you wanted to.

These sleepy guys in the background are called Luna Sleepers. If you want to, you can put them on your own blog! Don't worry - they're very friendly and they don't eat much.

Just roll your mouse on top of the picture and hold down your RIGHT MOUSE BUTTON. You'll see a box pop open that says stuff like "SAVE PICTURE AS..."





















Well that's what you want to do. Click "SAVE PICTURE AS..." and then you can choose where you want to save the Luna Sleepers onto your own computer.

To put them in your own blog...well, first you have to HAVE your own blog. Der. Ok...so now you have your own blog. Next time you CREATE A NEW ENTRY, click the POST AN IMAGE button - it's the blue & green button that looks like this

Or, you can even use this the picture a a background to ALL your blog entries. It's a little trickier, but here goes:

In the BLOG BUILDER, go to the CHANGE SETTINGS page.
Click ADVANCED SETTINGS at the bottom of the page.

At the top of the next page it'll say PAGE BACKGROUND COLOR OR IMAGE. Then there will be a little box on the right with the word "Image:"

Click inside the little box and select the Luna Sleeper image from wherever you saved it to your own computer. The image is called "wonderlens-LS.gif"

Then click UPLOAD IMAGE and at the bottom of the page you can either save your new blog look or you can preview it first.

Then you can take a nap. ^_^
